today we’re introducing our new Marketplace
business, a convenient destination to discover, buy and sell items with people
in our community. Marketplace makes it easy to find new things you’ll love, and
find a new home for the things you’re ready to part with. We’ll continue to
build new options and features to make this the best experience for people.
A. How customer place an order
Before you they start shopping, buyers have
to registered an account.
Browse through our various categories / sub-categories or
use the search bar to find their favorite products.
On the product details page, they can either tap on:
· "Chat Now" to discuss or make an offer with the seller or
· "Add to Cart" to place the selected item on your shopping cart or
· "Buy Now" to place an order directly.
Chat Now
Chat now feature allows buyers to send a personal message to
the seller directly. If they need more help with product details, product variety
and product reviews, they may chat a seller to get an answer right away.
One of the great function within the chat feature is "Make Offer". This is for
buyers who would like to offer a different price for the item.
Buy
From product detail page, tap "Buy Now". If variation is available, choose one and
indicate their preferred quantity. Once confirmed, you will be directed to the
Shopping Cart.
On the shopping cart, select the products they want and then
click the "Check
out" button.
On
the "Checkout" page,
buyers have to make sure to:
1. Select preferred "Delivery
Address".
2. Check the available shipping courier.
3. Choose desired payment method.
Click on "Place
Order" and all done
B. How to deliver ordered product
Choosing
the Right Ship Method
With regard
to shipping, the main three shipping carriers here are the JNE, JNT, and Pos
Indonesia. Those are the big three for shipping direct-to-consumer ecommerce
orders.
1.
Reliability
From
a reliability standpoint, which is obviously one consideration when choosing
your shipping carrier, these carriers are all pretty reliable. They all have
very large networks and have been around a long time, and generally you’re
going to find that your package will be delivered on time based on the ship
method you chose.
2.
Availability
The
second option to consider is availability. For example, if you’re shipping a
very large order, it’s a wholesale order going to a retail customer that’s a
pallet, then you cannot ship that via JNE express, so that would have to go freight.
So today, I’m primarily referring to shipping small parcels direct to consumer.
3.
Cost
With
JNE, JNT and Pos Indonesia, they are again comparable from a reliability
standpoint. From a cost standpoint, though, it can vary quite a bit depending
on a few different factors….
Customer’s
Location:
How
far away from your warehouse are you shipping?
Actual
Weight of the Package:
Is
the actual weight 2 kilos or 10 kilos? It would potentially impact the most
cost-effective carrier in those cases.
The Dimensional
Weight:
How
big is the package? This is important, and it’s becoming increasingly important
because, for example, Pos Indonesia has different dimensional weight rules than
JNE and JNT. If it’s a very large box but is low weight, then you may find that
Pos Indonesia is more cost effective.
4.
Speed
The
other thing to consider is obviously speed. For example, Reguler Service from
the Postal Service may not be as fast as, say, Priority Mail. In most cases, it
isn’t, especially if it’s shipping a longer distance. And then you obviously
have expedited options to consider, as well.
C. The future of our business
Globalization
continues to change the way we live. It also changes the way we shop. Our
vision at Reaction is to connect and democratize the world through open
commerce. What better way to do so than through a global marketplace?
Thanks
to the online marketplace, our world is more interconnected than ever. Split
order processing and shipment on Amazon and Etsy allow merchants and shoppers
to exchange goods from all around the world through one unified checkout
experience. And for the marketplace owner, there are now choices. Without the
overwhelming limitations of cost and development time, niche marketplaces, big
and small, are launching left and right.
Here’s
another possibility: what if every marketplace was connected, regardless of
platform? Imagine a retail landscape where every catalog across all platforms
is connected, regardless of where that store might be located. Merchants can
open up a shop on Etsy, open up a shop on a niche marketplace, and have all
their products from Etsy on that niche marketplace, and vice versa. A universal
catalog across all marketplaces is a truly global concept.
